This something you should memorize and discuss with everyone you know and love. It is what to do in the beginning, middle and hopefully the prevention from a tiny clot or a brain bleed can cause. What I am referring to is what they cause “Stroke”. I know what you might be thinking “not me, not yet that only happens to old people”. WRONG! You might have been made to believe that Strokes only effect the elderly, the overweight, the unhealthy. What is the truth is that Strokes effect who they want. Anything with a heartbeat. All a Stroke needs to wreak havoc is a blood flow and then it either blocks that blood flow(oxygen) or a blood vessel springs a leak causing surrounding brain tissue to die from the blood contact.
So ActFASTstrokeTPA is Act FAST stroke TPA. This is every step to give anyone a chance at beating a Stroke. Lets break down the parts of Act FAST stroke TPA.
Act FAST
A very simple test done by a first responder or witness of anyone complaining of abnormal feelings or behaving abnormally. During a Stroke if you are conscious you probably can understand spoken commands but may not be able to produce any sound or anything that makes sense.
Lets then Decide through the FAST test if they are showing any symptoms. If you have ant doubts, call 911 any way. Better safe then sorry with Strokes. Okay, if they showed any symptoms and you call 911 be very specific. Say exactly this to be very clear about where the ambulance needs to take the patient. I have done the Stroke test FAST we need to get to a Hospital with a designated “Stroke Center.”
If they say the nearest one is hours away. You tell them to have Life Flight Helicopter meet you at the nearest parking lot and fly us to the Stroke Center if its too far to drive.
This is the only way to give the possible Stroke sufferer a chance to be seen by an actual Stroke Team trained in Stroke Diagnosis and one that will always have a 24/7 neurologists to administer the FDA approved clot busting drug TPA(Tissue Plasmogen Activator). What is TPA?
Every 45 Seconds someone in America Suffers a Brain Attack. Out of the 750K Strokes a year 160K people die. This is a frightening statistic that should cause YOU great concern. Why? Because Stroke can happen to anyone at anytime. This means You , a mother, a father, a brother or sister or even your child.

One day a healthy 26 year old. As the Sun sets on the day you never know what the next day holds in store. This is what can happen unless we change our medical systems to properly diagnose a Stroke and administer TPA.
